The nearest parking lot is located in Podzámčí Street above the summer cinema, about 100 m from the castle. In case the spaces are occupied, we recommend using one of the central car parks, which are about a kilometre away from the castle. For details, please see the How to get here section.

The parking lots in Vimperk are paid.

The barrier-free toilet is located in the second courtyard, to the right under the arcade.

The courtyards are freely accessible during the opening hours of the castle, however, it must be taken into account that the castle (as well as the town of Vimperk) are in hilly terrain. The courtyards are partly filled with gravel.

Dogs are only allowed in the courtyard on a leash and with a muzzle.

Dogs (and other animals) are not allowed inside.

Cyclists cannot ride their bikes in the castle grounds, but they can lead them.

Bicycles can be locked freely in the grounds (but they must not be leaned against the facades). However, they are not guarded and racks are not yet available. It is forbidden to bring bicycles inside.

A changing table is not available.

We recommend visitors with children to take a free tour of the Vimperk Museum, which has children's captions and a number of educational elements.

There are restaurants, confectioneries and cafés in Vimperk – mostly within walking distance.
